ABOUT THE ACADEMY
Code Of Conduct
Parents Code of conduct
During the coaching hours of any Bangkok Soccer Schools session, the coaching staff have full responsibility for the children within our care. For this reason, Bangkok Soccer Schools reserve the right for their coaching staff to have full authority for the coaching of your children during our sessions.
- In any session where we are training or playing a match or in a tournament using an enclosed pitch, parents will be not be allowed to enter the enclosed area. Please use the appropriate viewing area. This will be for the full duration of the session. Only BSS coaching staff and the children attending the session may enter the pitch area.
- There will be ample viewing areas available and parents are welcome to watch the coaching sessions, although our experience of coaching sessions has showed us, that in general, children are more focused when their parents are not present.
- Parents are not permitted to coach or shout advice or give any instructions to any child including their own during matches and training, without exception You are there to watch your child (and enjoy watching them play) and nothing more. If the children are to get the most from our sessions and matches, it is important that the only voices they hear are the coaches and that they are allowed to make their own decisions. Any deviation from this code will not be tolerated from any parent at all.
- Encourage your child to speak with the coach. If your child is having difficulties in training or games, or can’t attend training etc. encourage them to speak directly to the coaches. This “responsibility taking” is a big part of becoming a mature person. By handling off the field tasks, your child is claiming ownership of all aspects of the game.
- Making mistakes is all part of the learning process. Please accept that mistakes will happen and do not show frustration or disappointment when they arise. Learning how to lose is just as important as learning how to win and in situations where players have lost games, especially through mistakes please be as supportive as possible.
- If you need to speak to your child during a session, please speak with one of the coaching team first.
- We only have limited contact time with the children and we would like to use this time fully. It will help us to do this if you can deliver your child promptly.
- We ask that parents save their comments until after the coaching session has finished. We welcome comments from you and coaches will be available prior to and at the end of coaching sessions to answer questions. Alternatively please feel free to contact us at academy@bangkoksoccerschools.com or call him us on 02 149 4647 with any questions and comments if you cannot speak to us at these times.
- Remember, young people are involved in soccer for their enjoyment, not yours.
- Encourage your child always to play by the Laws of the Game.
- Teach young children that honest endeavor is as important as winning, so that the result of each game is accepted without disappointment.
- Help young people to work towards skill improvement and good sportsmanship.
- Set a good example by applauding good play on both sides.
- Never ridicule, humiliate or shout at young players for any reason whatsoever.
- Do not place emphasis on winning at all costs. In youth soccer the priority is always technical development, skill acquisition and enjoyment.
- Do not force an unwilling child to participate in the playing of sport. If the child is to play, he / she will do so in good time through your encouragement. There are other aspects of sport other than playing which are equally fulfilling.
- Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from sport. Support all efforts to rid soccer of sexism and racism.
- As a spectator, do not use profane language or harass referees, coaches or players.
- Do not publicly question the referees’ judgment and never their honesty.
- Recognise the value and importance of volunteer referees and coaches. They give of their time and resources to provide recreational activities for young people.
- Encourage in your child an appreciation of mutual respect for team-mates and opponents.
In the case of matches and tournaments the above guidelines still apply .
I also agree that if I fail to abide by the aforementioned rules and guidelines, I will be subject to disciplinary action that could include, in no particular order, the following:
- Verbal warning by any member of Bangkok Soccer Schools staff
- Written warning by Bangkok Soccer Schools
